Whirlpool Guest House, the Cleveland-based trio of the late 80s to mid 90s, released their debut single in 1987. The Changing Face is a chunk of classic, romantic pop which builds from quiet beginnings into a glorious melody. With a rough acoustic sound, the B-side Jack Of All Trades, a celebration of the delights of self-employment, completes this highly individual single, whose jangly, stripped-down sound was continued on their first album, Pictures On The Pavement. |
